INSTRUCTOR PROFILE
Shane Williams started taking Karate at the age of 7 after several months he lost interest in the program and quit the class. At age 16 he
entered a small school in Sultan WA that was teaching Sagawa Kara-Fu a martial art using techniques from Japanese and Chinese
fighting styles. Sensei Shane Sandobal ran the School under supervision of his father Head Sensei Rodney Sandobal. The Sagawa
Kara-Fu style is a very effective form of self-defense that uses realistic techniques and tactics. Sensei Sandobal brought to his school a lot
of experiences from other forms of Martial arts, first hand street fighting knowledge and a background of competition fighting in boxing,
kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA/NHB). From these experiences San-Do Shoot Fighting was developed, Shane quickly started
training this unfamiliar fighting style that used the stand up techniques of Boxing and Muay Thai Kickboxing and Ground Fighting
techniques of Pankration and Japanese Jujitsu. Shane was now training between 11 - 16 hours a week between Private Lessons,
Assisting teaching the Kids Program, Adult Traditional Class, Shoot Fighting and Sparring/Fighter Prep training sessions. This type of
training lasted up until Shane enlisted into the U.S. Army Infantry. During his time in the Army he was able to continue training with a wide
variety of Martial Artists most of the training consisted of sparring and exchanging of techniques from one person to another. During this
time Shane was part of a Rapid Deployment Unit and had the opportunity to train with 7 Nations Militarise in the Sahara Desert Egypt.
Shane's Unit was also deployed to the Middle East as part of Military Operations which at the time was the largest deployment to that region
since the Gulf War. Once honorably discharged from the Army Shane was hired by the Federal Government to provide Security to a U.S.
Naval Submarine Communication base located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. During this time he received Defensive Tactics
Training From the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S Naval Security Forces along with Pepper spray training and expandable baton training.
During the September 11th terrorist attacks Shane was a member of this Security Force, due to a rise in our Nations Security and need for
Federal Police Officers, Shane decided to take a position with the Department of Defense Police Force working for Navy Region Northwest,
while at the Police Academy Shane received Defensive Tactics Training from the D.O.D. Police and specialized hand cuffing techniques
that used Aikido style techniques he also received additional expandable baton training. After graduating the academy and receiving the
Overall Achievement Award he started working as a Full Time Federal Officer. During this time Shane was exposed to several real world
incidents that have given him experiences that he brings into his martial art classes, one being the time he had a suspect pull a knife on
him while on duty in Bremerton WA, after Shane and other Officers dis-armed the suspect he received a Public Service Award for placing
his life in danger to protect others. During 2004 Shane felt that he had did his service for his country and decided to leave the Federal
Government and open his own martial arts school. Since the opening of C.T.E.T. Combative Tactics Exploration Training, Shane continues
to Train with Sensei Sandobal as much as he can and has even started training a little no gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In 2006 Shane & 2 of his
top students traveled to Thailand to Train Muay Thai with the World Muay Thai Champion Tuk Rawai and several local Thailand Champions
at a Muay Thai Kickboxing Camp Training 6 hours a day 6 days a week. In June of 2006 Shane traveled with his Wife Melissa and 2
Students Nicole & Steph to Las Vegas for the Black Belt Industry Awards presented by Black Belt Magazine where C.T.E.T. was recognized
as a National Finalist for the Best Overall School Award, only 4 schools received this honor.
